Former Arkansas Democratic spokesman, Harold “HL” Moody, Jr., has been arrested following a federal investigation into online child pornography chat rooms.
Moody worked as recently as 2017 as chair for Tippi McCullough’s campaign for Arkansas State Representative. In addition, Moody served as chair of the Pulaski County Democrat Committee and as spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
Moody, 39, also worked as a special events coordinator for Pulaski County Youth Services. Pulaski County Youth Services terminated his position on Monday.
A 18 page criminal indictment was unsealed Wednesday, charging Moody with distribution and possession of child pornography. Moody was observed distributing child pornography in certain online child exploitative chat rooms on 5 separate occasions.
Moody was arrested on Monday, and appeared before a U.S. Magistrate on Tuesday. Now, Moody has been remanded to federal custody. A trial date has not yet been set.
