Child Killed, 45 injured in Arkansas Bus Crash

Early Monday, a bus crash in Arkansas killed one child and injured 45, mostly children. The bus crashed when the driver reportedly lost control on Interstate 30 near Hot Springs.

The bus was traveling from a youth all-star football championship game in Dallas, Texas to Memphis, Tennessee. The driver told police she lost control of the charter bus. Authorities received the emergency call at 2:40 AM.

Reportedly, the bus rolled 15 to 20 times before coming to a stop.

The children were between the ages of 8 and 10 years old and accompanied by chaperones. Two children have been airlifted. Arkansas’ Children Hospital received over 20 children in the ER. Others were taken to hospitals in Saline and Pulaski county.

The bus was owned by Scott Shuttle Service of Somerville, Tennessee.
