Arkansas Patients Barred From Oklahoma Medical Marijuana

Arkansas voters approved medicinal marijuana in 2016, yet delays have prevented 6,743 Arkansans from being able to purchase medicinal marijuana in the state. Now, Arkansans are seeking to purchase in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma approved medical marijuana in June, 2018. Within just six months, sales are being made at open dispensaries to the authorized patients.

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority has stated an out-of-state person can apply for a 30-day temporary license to purchase medicinal marijuana. However because Arkansas has not released medical marijuana licenses to the approved 6,743 patients, they will not be able to purchase in Oklahoma.

The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission will meet next on January 9, 2019.

  1. How does someone in Arkansas get approved for Medical Marijuana? Through their PCP or just certain doctors??

  2. The state does not want to allow its use is why it is taking so long. They are doing all they can to delay for as long as possible.
