The Arkansas Department of Transportation is now accepting bids on 31 construction projects. The low bids opened have totaled $142 million.
One of these construction projects is a second attempt to expand a highway in Northeast Arkansas. The Department of Transportation has already received a $58.5 million bid, after turning down a bid for $62 million. The initial bid was turned down for being too high.
The project would expand U.S. 412 to four lanes in Lawrence and Greene county.
