Arkansas House Files to Honor 23 Year Old Airman Killed in Little Rock Stopping Armed Robbery

Shawn McKeough Jr., a senior airman in the United States Air Force, was killed at the age of 23 on March 15, 2019, while attempting to stop an armed robbery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On Friday, March 22, 2019, legislation was filed in the Arkansas House to celebrate his life and contributions.

The resolution was filed by State Representatives Sorvillo, Wing, Scott, Brown, Lowery and House.

Although only 23 years old, McKeough served in Germany, South Korea, Kuwait, as well as several combat zones. He was a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal.

Stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas, McKeough was serving as a aerial delivery operations specialist for the 19th Logistic Readiness Squadron of the 19th Airlift Wing.

McKeough has been returned to Westbrook, Maine where he is from. He is survived by his girlfriend, family members, and friends.

The resolution filed in the Arkansas House would see that the House honors the legacy of McKeough as well as celebrate his life and service to the Air Force. A copy of the adopted resolution would be provided to the family and the girlfriend of McKeough.
