A 7-foot tall satanic statue of baphomet was displayed in front of the Arkansas capitol on Thursday. The statute is of a half-goat, half-person deity. The rally was sponsored by the Satantic Temple and Satanic Arkansas.
The event was a form of protest against the recent ten commandments monument placed on the Arkansas capitol grounds. The ACLU has filed a lawsuit trying to remove the ten commandments monument. The Santanic Temple group has demanded that the baphomet statute be placed next to the 10 commandments monument.
Counter protesters included Christians holding signs of bible verses.
