Pea Ridge Police Chief Resigns Following Suspension

Police Chief Ryan Walker in Pea Ridge has submitted a letter of resignation after being placed on suspension. His resignation will be effective December 1.

Mayor Jackie Crabtree confirmed that Walker had been placed on suspension for three days, due to “conduct”, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

Walker’s letter of resignation was dated November 5th and expressed gratitude for the time he was able to serve the Police Department for 12 years and the Fire Department for 15 years.

Walker has a long history of public service to Pea Ridge, beginning in 2004. Walker served on the Pea Ridge Fire Department before serving in the Pea Ridge Police Department. Walker was sworn in as Chief in March of 2015, beating out 25 other applicants for the position.

Captain Chris Oslon will take over as interim chief following Walker’s resignation.
