Arkansas is considering a number of alternatives to fund I-49 after a study showed that tolls wouldn’t cover the needed revenue.
The toll would have covered a 14 mile stretch of I-49 between Crawford and Sebastian County.
The project seeks revenue for the construction and operation of a portion of I-49. In addition, the project would construct a bridge over the Arkansas River. In total, funding needed would total at $776 million.
