Police Captain joins Medical Marijuana Commission

Arkansas police Captain Kevin Russell was appointed to join the five person Medical Marijuana Commission. Capt. Russell served the Benton Police Department for 19 years.

President pro tempore of the Senate, Sen. Jonathan Dismang announced his appointment on Monday, December 17. In the letter outlining the appointment, Sen. Dismang also mentions that the decision was made “in consultation” with Sen. Jim Hendren.

Sen. Dismang had also appointed Dr. Carlos Roman, who Capt. Russell is replacing. Capt. Russell’s appointment fills a vacancy left by Dr. Carlos Roman whose term expired this year. Russell’s term will last four years.
