Arkansas Gov. Hutchinson Signs ‘Trigger’ Abortion Law

Gov. Hutchinson has signed a ‘trigger’ abortion ban bill into law which would make abortion automatically illegal in Arkansas should Roe V. Wade be overturned by the Supreme Court of the United States.

The 1973 Supreme Court ruling legalized abortion across the United States.

Arkansas is now the fifth state to pass a ‘trigger’ law regarding abortion. A conservative majority in the Supreme Court has led many to believe that the Supreme Court could actually overturn Roe V. Wade.

Currently, abortion is banned in Arkansas after 20 weeks into pregnancy.
