Arkansas Senate Votes In Favor of Defunding Sanctuary Cities

The Arkansas Senate passed a bill which would defund cities in the state that are not compliant with federal immigration laws. This is a preemptive measure as no Arkansas city has adopted sanctuary policies yet.

The attorney general would hold power to decide which cities are sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants. Texas passed similar legislation over two years ago.

The bill passed 24-5 in the Arkansas Senate and will now go to a vote in front of the Arkansas House.
