Former State Rep. Pleads Guilty to Stealing From Little River Chamber of Commerce

Former Arkansas State Rep. Fonda Hawthorne has pled guilty to stealing from the Little River Chamber of Commerce. As a Democrat, she represented the 4th district for one term from 2013-2015.

In office, Hawthorne served on the Public Transportation, City County and Local Affairs, and Legislative Joint Auditing committees. She was defeated for reelection in 2014 by Republican DeAnn Vaught by 59 to 41 percent. Hawthorne attempted to run again in 2016 and was defeated by DeAnn Vaught again 73 to 26 percent.

Professionally, Hawthorne worked as the Economic Development Officer for the city of De Queen and Sevier County.

Her sentencing will be in May, 2019.
