Bill Details

HB1465/SB298 – Protecting the Constitution Against Federal Overreach – SUPPORT

By: Rep. Brandt Smith (R – Jonesboro) / Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch)

This bill would instruct local law enforcement to not enforce new federal laws that violate the US Constitution. This could include gun laws that go against the 2nd Amendment.  With a new liberal Biden Administration this law is needed to protect our Constitutional rights against federal overreach.

HB1361 – No Taxes Levied on PPP Loans and Other COVID19 Relief Funds – SUPPORT

By: Rep. Les Eaves (R – Searcy)

This bill would make clear that Arkansas income taxes or other taxes would not be applied to loans through the PPP federal program for funds received for COVID19 relief.  This bill would treat the PPP loans the same as the federal tax laws–not taxing those funds.  This bill will save taxpayers $212 million that otherwise would be due the state of Arkansas.  This bill should be passed immediately.

SB482 – Repeal of Throwback Rule Applied to US Government Sales – SUPPORT

By: Sen. Jonathan Dismang (R – Beebe)

This bill repeals the throwback rule for sales shipped from Arkansas to the U.S. Government. It would result in annual reduction of revenue flowing to government of $34.3 million according to DFA.
