Ranting At Feds But Ignoring Big Business – COVID Mandates

by Conduit For Action

The biggest pastime of Arkansas politicians is ranting about the Federal government. The feds tend to deserve all the criticism and more. But some politicians intentionally distract voters with rants about the federal government to avoid having to deal with issues here at home.

Some Arkansas politicians are ranting about the Biden administration’s move to impose Covid-19 vaccine mandates while ignoring the need for state government to protect Arkansas workers from the same mandates imposed by big corporations. Whether it is the federal government or big corporations either way many Arkansans will lose their livelihoods if they do not get in line and obey the orders of their overlords.

To the big corporations making workers obey is more important to them than respecting their employees’ health choices or having a policy that makes sense. And these mandates do not make sense.

  1. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated workers can become infected with COVID-19, and although unvaccinated people are more at risk, people in both groups have died.
  2. Vaccinated workers who become infected with the virus can spread it to coworkers.
  3. While vaccines lower the risk of infection for most people, there are also documented cases of people suffering debilitating reactions from receiving the vaccine.
  4. The effectiveness of vaccines diminishes over time.
  5. Many workers have natural antibodies against the virus from having had the virus in the past but they are still subject to the vaccine mandates.
  6. Harsh workplace requirements and restrictions designed to force workers to obey or quit are being imposed on unvaccinated workers regardless of whether the workers have the antibodies or are entitled to a valid medical or religious exemption.
  7. No such restrictions are placed on vaccinated workers even though they may have greater public contact and a greater risk of getting the virus from the public than from coworkers.
  8. Workers with a valid medical or religious exemption are subject to discrimination in the workplace under the harsh workplace requirements and restrictions on unvaccinated workers.
  9. Workers who are saying “no” are not crazy antivaxxers. Many are even health professionals such as doctors and nurses.

Don’t let slick state politicians distract you with rants about the federal government while not helping Arkansas workers who are losing their jobs because of big corporate mandates.

The state legislature needs to act in the extended session which begins September 29.

Punting the issue to a special session means: 1. Many workers will lose their jobs before the issue is even debated, and 2. There is no guarantee protections can be passed in a special session because a 2/3rds majority in each house is required before legislation that is not on the governor’s agenda may be introduced.

Contact your state Senator and Representative by Wednesday September 29. Arkansas workers need your help.
