Army veteran, former NFL player and Arkansas Razorback, conservative Jake Bequette joins Conduit News to talk about why he is running for the U.S. Senate. Bequette says his opponent, Senator John Boozman, is out of touch with the issues affecting Arkansans, like the illegal immigration crisis. “John Boozman likes to portray himself as someone who’s for strong borders, but he’s part of the problem. He’s been there for over 20 years. The border has never been worse.”
Bequette also says the federal government is out of control. “We tax too much. We spend too much. We have too many regulations. There’s a lot of Republicans who talk about trimming around the edges of the federal government, but I want to actually abolish some of these federal agencies. There is a fourth branch of government – the unaccountable administrative state — that’s really the fight of our time.”
Bequette is also facing a third opponent in this congressional race, Jan Morgan.
