Former State Rep. Mark Berry — Ignoring the Party Platform

Former State Representative Mark Berry (R-Ozark) is running for State Senate District 26 to fill the seat vacated by the late Sen. Gary Stubblefield, who passed away earlier this year. Berry served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from January 2021 through January 2025. He is running against Wade Dunn, Brad Simon, Ted Tritt, and Stacie Smith in the special Republican primary election scheduled for January 6, 2026. Early voting is currently underway.

The Stubblefield family has officially endorsed Wade Dunn in this Senate District 26 race.

What should Arkansas voters expect if Mr. Berry is elected to the state Senate? One way to assess this is by reviewing his voting record during his time in the House. Over his two terms, Berry ranked 34th out of 100 legislators with a score of 79% in 2021, followed by a drop to 43rd out of 100 with a score of 55% in 2023.

We hope readers find this information useful as they compare the principles outlined in the Arkansas Republican Platform with Mr. Berry’s actual voting record while in office. The Arkansas Republican Platform was updated at the 2024 Republican State Convention and can be found HERE.i
