BENTON COUNTY — Tim McDonald joined Conduit News to discuss his run for the newly created Division 8 circuit judge seat, added to address Benton County’s growing criminal caseload.
McDonald highlighted nearly two decades of legal experience, including serving as a federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C., prosecuting gang-related homicides in St. Louis, and working in the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office handling crimes against children. He later moved into private practice in civil litigation, a step he said was necessary ahead of the new division coming online.
In the interview, McDonald stressed the importance of experienced judges in criminal courts, pointing to accountability, judicial discretion, and public safety. He also cited the need for more resources and better coordination among agencies investigating crimes against children.
A former Judge Advocate in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves, McDonald said his campaign is driven by a desire to serve the community and help keep Benton County safe as he raises his family.
Election Day is March 3. Early voting begins February 17. Learn more about McDonald here.
