Between the membership purge and refusing to allow County delegations across the state the right to participate in the 2026 Arkansas Republican biennial State Convention, it appears that the Republican Party of Arkansas did not think the punishment of exclusion of the Washington County’s 55-member delegation was harsh enough!
Read what WCRC claims is an embarrassing fraud and clearly fabricated complaint that an “undisclosed group from the 3rd District” had others sign and then filed with the RPA.
As of this date and regardless of the facts, it appears the RPA is still willing to embarrass themselves further and hear this Request for a Rules Review….(just as soon as the State Party Chairman can find committee members willing to participate). See the 3rd District’s Request for Review:
Short summary: unnamed 30 or so people (actually undisclosed number and names) signed a Request for Review with the RPA around mid-August, which falsely alleges the Executive Committee of the WCRC single-handedly changed its delegate-selection “rules” the night before their 2026 County Convention —(regardless of the fact that the procedure had been in place by the WCRC for over a month, and 32 members had already used the new procedure to file as candidates—including an attempt to file by the State Party Rules Chairman, himself.)
Ironic twist—the Executive Committee which the Request claims committed this egregious act actually includes the Chairman of the State Convention Credentials Committee which unanimously voted against seating the 55 Washington County delegates to the State Convention.
See the WCRC Response:
WCRC fired back not only with this sharp rebuttal—but presented real facts with written proof (their multiple sets of past minutes and written procedures along with their actual “Local Rules”) –all proof of what actually took place.
A hearing was set by the Review Committee for September 11 in Little Rock — and then, the day before it was set to happen, RPA 4th District Chair Diana Lowe recused as Chairman of the Review Committee. Her statement said that State Chairman Joseph Wood cancelled the hearing “until further notice” and plans to appoint a new Review Committee.
So, for now, it appears this action against WCRC will continue –as it appears that the RPA plans to live to fight another day against WCRC! (Below are the exhibits proving the outrageous nature of the claims made in the Request for Review. For the short version, see the timeline (Exhibit D) attached to the WCRC Response.)
