Governor Asa Hutchinson is calling a special session to reverse the recent Arkansas law banning mask mandates by the state and local governments. He wants to give local school boards the authority to mandate masks in your school.
The Governor wants you to think forcing the decision on school boards is the “conservative thing to do.” NO, the conservative thing to do is to let each parent determine their own child’s health care and whether to use a mask.
Forcing school districts to make the decision is nothing but the coward’s way of doing things. If the Governor and some legislators want mask mandates in schools then let them try to do it outright, statewide, instead of being the cowards they are who want to set the mask mandate in motion but sidestep blame by making your local school board members the scapegoats for voting for or against a mask mandate.
The coward’s plan will subject your local school board members to chaos, ridicule, and hatred, no matter which way they decide. If this plan passes in the legislature there will be mass turnover of school board members in the next school election because no matter what decision the school board member makes, there will be upset people in the community who will do everything they can to defeat the school board member.
The next election of school board members will turn into a referendum on masks, not on how well the school district is run. But that doesn’t bother Asa or his legislator followers as long as they can shift the blame from themselves to someone else. To them, your school board members are disposable pawns.
The special session will be held in a few days. If you want to be heard the time is NOW to tell your state Senator and state Representative.
If you want parents to be able to make their own decisions say “NO” to the legislation.
Even if you want everyone to wear masks forever say “NO” to the coward politician’s way of shifting blame to your school board members.
DON’T LET YOUR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS BE USED AS SCAPEGOATS FOR COWARDLY POLITICIANS WHO WANT A MASK MANDATE WITHOUT TAKING BLAME!
