The start of the 92nd General Assembly brought a long awaited victory for transparency advocates. For years the Arkansas House of Representatives provided live-streaming of their proceedings. However, the Senate had refused and joint committee spaces in the Big Mac administration building were not equipped with live-streaming capabilities. This left engaged constituents with no way of knowing what their government was doing in some legislative proceedings.
But now all legislative proceedings in the House and Senate will be live-streamed for people to watch wherever they are. This will increase the transparency and access that the people have with their government.
