>>>TAKE ACTION NOW: Encourage your State Representative to Support SB294

*Updated*

SB294 – AR LEARNS Act – Educational Freedom Accounts – passed out of the House Education Committee Wednesday, March 1, by a voice vote.

SB294 will be heard on the House Floor today at 1pm.

For too long, American children have been forced into a one-size-fits-all education system. No longer should a student’s zip code determine the quality of education they receive.

To give students access to the best education possible, taxpayer-funding for education should follow the student, and not be tied to a specific school. Education freedom empowers parents to meet their child’s needs and provide them with the best education possible.

Opponents of education freedom and those who want to fund systems, not students, are working overtime to make sure SB294 does not pass. This is why your representative needs to hear from YOU.

>>>TAKE ACTION and encourage your state representative to support SB294 and finally give students the educational opportunity that they deserve.

Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) like the Arkansas Children’s Educational Freedom Account Program expand education freedom and are popular with parents. ESAs benefit families who live in rural areas, as well as those who live in cities.

SB294, the Arkansas LEARNS Act, is a comprehensive reform of education in the state that will make education freedom a reality in Arkansas by creating universal Education Savings Accounts (ESAs). With an ESA, the state deposits a portion of the funding the state would normally spend on a student at a traditional school into a private account that parents use to buy education products and services for their children.

Families can use an ESA to:

  • hire a personal tutor for their child

  • find an education therapist

  • pay for private, public, charter and home school tuition

  • buy curricula and textbooks

  • save money from year to year for future expenses

  • and more

The accounts allow families to choose more than one education product or service.
