AR Gov and Lawmakers Condemn Hamas Attack on Israel

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is putting forth a resolution supporting Israel in its fight against Hamas. Sanders says, “Arkansans stand in support of our Israeli allies as they fight this war and chase the terrorists out of their country.”

On Saturday, Sanders took to X (formerly Twitter) to strongly condemn the surprise attack made by Hamas against Israel. Governor Sanders said, “This unprovoked sneak attack against innocent Israelis is an act of war. I join Arkansans in condemning this attack against our strongest ally in the Middle East. Israel has every right to defend itself.

Hamas militants have infiltrated Israel in an unprecedented attack, firing more than 3,500 rockets at residential areas from the Gaza Strip. U.S. Senator Tom Cotton joined the Hugh Hewitt show Monday morning and said, “The Biden administration hasn’t acknowledged Iran’s involvement in Hamas’s terrorism because it would be an indictment of the administration’s disastrous concessions to Iran.” Cotton also appeared on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo. Cotton said Hamas could not have carried out these terrorist attacks without Iranian support. “The Biden administration should cease any further concessions to the ayatollahs and stop appeasing them.”

At least 1,100 people were killed in the terrorist attack and hundreds more were wounded, according to Israel’s national rescue service. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video that Israel is “at war” and called for a massive military response. U.S. Representative Rick Crawford said, “the actions of the terrorist organization Hamas against Israel must be met with swift and decisive force from the United States in support of Israel.

U.S. Representatives Bruce Westerman, John Boozman, and Richard Womack all released a statement on X condemning the attacks. The Reps said they will continue to stand firm with our ally (Israel) and their prayers are with them. The State Department said Monday that at least nine American citizens have been killed in the weekend Hamas attacks on Israel, raising the toll from four. It said an undetermined number of American citizens remain missing and unaccounted for. The White House said President Biden is not expected to speak or appear to the public for the rest of the Monday, just hours after nine Americans were confirmed dead in Israel.
