Transparency Group Receives Green Light From AG on FOIA Initiative

Steinbuch Dishes on FOIA Constitutional Amendment, RPA Proposed Rules Changes, and the UofA King Fahd Middle Eastern Studies Center...

UALR Law Professor and member of the Arkansas FOIA Task Force Robert Steinbuch joins Conduit News to tackle several different issues currently facing Arkansas.

(00:37:04) First, Steinbuch provides an update on the constitutional amendment and initiated act that recently received the green light from Attorney General Tim Griffin. The group, Arkansas Citizens for Transparency, will begin collecting signatures for a November ballot measure to enshrine government openness in the state Constitution.

(13:49:14) Steinbuch, who has been very vocal the past several years at RPA state committee meetings and conventions, shares his thoughts about the recent proposed rules changes sent out by the RPA.

(21:05:16) Last but certainly not least — we talk about his new series in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette highlighting the Kind Fahd Middle Eastern Studies Center at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Steinbuch says it is time for the UofA Chancellor to “shut it down,” and he explains why.

** Steinbuch’s views are his alone and do not necessarily reflect those of his employer.**
