Bryan Norris, an Independence County resident and actively involved in the Independence County Paper Ballot Initiative, joins Conduit News to talk about the resistance his group has experienced in their efforts to make elections more secure.
Norris has received countless documents from a recent FOI request that shows the Arkansas Association of Counties “using taxpayer dollars to actively work against the will of the voters.”
Norris says paper ballots bring accountability to elections. “Here’s the beauty of it: checks and balances. The machine count is checking the human count. The human count is checking the machine count. They should match. And if they don’t, they have a problem. But the beautiful thing about the hand marked and hand counted paper ballots is, is we will have physical trail that will lead back to the issue.”
