On Monday, April 14th, The House passed HR1114 and the Senate passed the companion resolution, SR71 out of their respective chambers. This resolution filed by Rep. Beaty requested authorization for consideration of SJR15 by Sen. Dismang.
SJR15 would expand Arkansas’s welfare state by creating “corporate welfare districts,” funneling your hard-earned money to government-favored corporations through subsidies, tax breaks, and permanent tax-exempt status for handpicked insiders. While small businesses and working families struggle, this amendment acts like a friendly bank for political elites, redistributing taxpayer dollars with little to no oversight. Sound familiar? It should. Arkansas tried this before with “general improvement districts,” where legislators doled out public funds to pet projects—landing some of them in prison for corruption. Time is running out. Contact these House State Agencies Committee Members and urge them to VOTE NO on SJR15. Let them know you do NOT want this on the ballot. Arkansas taxpayers deserve better than backroom deals, corporate handouts, and a return to corrupt, socialist-style schemes.
