Haven’t Read The Platform? A recipe for failure.

When Doyle Webb was interviewed by Conduit News he pulled out a pocket size copy of the Platform of the Republican Party of Arkansas. (Webb is the past chair of the RPA and a candidate for Lieutenant Governor.)

Several people who saw the interview asked us, “Where can we get a copy of the pocket platform?” Shockingly some who are members of their county’s committee said their committee hasn’t provided members with a copy of the platform and has never discussed the platform in their meetings.

If you are a member of a Republican county committee, does your committee provide a copy of the platform and discuss it? If not, how can your committee and your candidates know what being an Arkansas Republican stands for?

If your committee members and your Republican candidates don’t know the platform, don’t be surprised when you elect officeholders who give you the same ole Democrat results. In some counties once held by Democrats, many officeholders are switching to the Republican Party (which is good) but why would you expect different results if they have never seen the party platform before they joined?

In August the RPA will have its statewide convention where the convention will vote on changes to its platform and rules. Each county committee sends delegates to the state convention. How can your delegates make an intelligent vote on changes to the platform and rules if they haven’t read them and your county committee has never given them any guidance on the changes being proposed?

RINOs are happy when Republican committees don’t know the platform because they can’t be held accountable for Democrat results.

Did you know the platform is available online? The RPA webpage has the Platform where you can read it. We find it easier to read by selecting print in your browser and then look at a printed copy.

How about making a printed copy for all your members (especially new ones) and for all your announced candidates?

Here are links to the RPA Platform and the RPA Rules. NOTE: If you click on the words “Download this file” it will take you to a service named ScribD and it will want you to sign up. But if you click on the download icon you can download the file without having to do that.

But what about the pocket-sized platform?  We didn’t locate any information on the RPA website so you will need to contact the RPA state headquarters to see if pocket platforms are still available. If not, Conduit printed pocket size copies. We made copies because, although we are not affiliated with the Republican Party, we share the same principles and think Arkansas would be better off if Republican officeholders followed those principles. If you are a member of a Republican committee in your county or you are a current Republican candidate and want one of the copies we made, Conduit will mail to you one of ours at NO COST TO YOU. Our supply is limited. REQUEST FORM HERE
