The Arkansas Republican State Convention met on Saturday, June 8th in Rogers. It is the body within the RPA that has the final authority in all party matters. Several changes were made to the state party platform and to the RPA rules. Conduit listed both the platform and rules changes. Following the State Convention, the Searcy County Republican Committee passed a resolution at their regular June county committee meeting in support of the 2024 RPA State Convention.
The resolution states in part:
The Searcy County Republican Committee stands fully behind the changes that were made to the Republican Party of Arkansas Platform, and the Republican Party of Arkansas Rules at the 2024 RPA State Convention; and The Searcy County Republican Committee will view any attempt by Republican legislators to overrule the decisions of the 2024 RPA Convention, and by extension to overrule the will of the people they represent, as an openly hostile act against the people who raised them to elected office; and The Searcy County Republican Committee encourages legislators to stand proudly in support of these long-anticipated reforms to the Republican Party of Arkansas, such as closed primaries, which have finally brought the business of our party in line.”
