Ask any Republican politician in Arkansas and the politician will tell you “I’m against vaccine passports.” BUT unless they act your vaccine card will be used as a de facto vaccine passport to limit your employment and to control every area of your life.
CURRENTLY IN ARKANSAS
Working or Selling. Right now, the focus in Arkansas is on huge corporations like Walmart, Tyson’s, big hospitals, and health care corporations who are demanding of workers, “Show us proof you are fully vaccinated or you will be fired.” As bad as that is, it is just the beginning. For example, some Arkansas corporations are telling vendors “We won’t buy your products unless you show us proof you are vaccinated.”
Public Events. So far in Arkansas it appears you can still go to a football game without showing proof of vaccination, unlike some colleges in other states, but some concerts in Arkansas already require proof.
BIDEN MANDATE
The Biden mandate demands proof of vaccination from federal workers, contractors who do business with the federal government, and workers at Medicare and Medicaid facilities (such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health facilities).
President Biden is also trying to implement a plan to require businesses with 100 or more employees to show their workers are either vaccinated or tested weekly.
The Biden plan also calls on states to require vaccinations for teachers and school staff. If the feds tie the requirement to the state receiving federal money for education, then you must remember state politicians tend to obey the feds to qualify for money.
NEWS AROUND THE COUNTRY
Here are a few news items from around the country concerning the ability to go to indoor places, go to college, attend outdoor events, continue to live in your apartment, and potentially to travel.
- Indoors to transact business, dine, etc. San Francisco passed a rule that you must show proof of vaccination to go indoors in some places in San Francisco, such as: bars, restaurants, clubs, gyms, large indoor events, and any business or event serving food or drinks indoors.[i]
- Outdoor events. The University of Washington now requires either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result at all ticketed events.[ii]
- CNBC says vaccine mandates for travel are legal and probably coming.[iii] Dr Fauci say he supports a vaccine mandate to fly.[iv]
- A place to live. A Florida landlord is requiring all new tenants to be vaccinated and current residents must be vaccinated before their lease will be renewed.[v]
- Going to college. Penn State University suspended 117 students who had not shown proof of vaccination and have not undergone weekly testing.[vi]
If you think it is crazy here just scan a few headlines from other countries that have vaccine passports.
ADDING IT ALL TOGETHER
Even without passage of a vaccine passport law, increasingly your vaccine card is being used exactly the same way.
If the vaccine requirements become more widely required, we could reach the point where a person without proof of vaccination might not be able to get a job, rent a house or apartment, get an education, or buy or sell.
It doesn’t take much imagination to wonder how this vaccine mandate pattern could be applied in the future.
- Other vaccines? Will it just be the COVID-19 vaccination or will it be other vaccines such as for the flu? Some parents have resisted having their school age daughters take the human papilloma virus vaccine, so will liberals declare the HPV vaccine as the next health imperative for a mandate?
- Insurable? Could your insurance company declare you no longer insurable if you don’t have the vaccine?
- 2nd Let’s stretch the examples further. Could liberal gun grabbers declare gun possession a health crisis and prohibit people who own a gun from employment, housing, college, and being in public places?
- CRT and more. And stretch it even more. Could radical revisionists declare a racism health crisis and mandate completion of a critical race theory course and adoption of its racist policies before a person is allowed to have a job, an apartment, or to go to college or to be inside public places.
None of those scenarios are likely at all, … yet a few months ago we would have thought something like a COVID-19 vaccine mandate to keep your job would be pure science fiction.
Will the vaccine mandate become the pattern for liberals who want to end your freedoms?
STOP THE MANDATE MADNESS
Tell your state Senator and state Representative to protect vaccine information and to stop the mandates. Ask your legislators to prohibit an employer or a business from asking about a person’s COVID-19 vaccine status. It should be confidential information between you and your doctor.
TIME IS SHORT. ACT NOW! The legislature goes back to complete its extended session this Wednesday September 29. Some legislators want to adjourn in three days without helping workers. If they leave without acting it may be 2023 before they have a viable opportunity to address the issue.
